Each of WAS’s recreational programs emphasize the development of skill, independence, and active living through a student-centered approach. Entry-level through advanced instruction, group sessions, and equipment rentals are available for year-round programs with the option of scholarship assistance. Each individual lesson includes one-on-one instruction and any equipment needed.

Join WAS for weekly mountain biking lessons and group rides every Thursday night! Options exist for first-time participants, beginners, intermediate, or advanced riders. WAS encourages anyone to give it a try!

Located at Tibble Fork Reservoir, the paddle board and kayak program focuses on success found in either the sitting, kneeling or standing position.

All students are encouraged to utilize the robust WAS scholarship program. The scholarship application is included in the student registration forms.

Cost: $20 per lesson

  • 2.5 Hour Lesson: 10:00 AM-12:30 PM or 1:30 PM-4:00 PM

Price Per Lesson: $50 (up to 100% scholarship assistance available)

Lesson Details

  • One-on-one adaptive lesson with a trained instructor
  • Multi-day lessons available.
  • We will try our best to schedule the same instructor for all days, however cannot guarantee the same instructor every day

Snowbird, Alta, and Sundance

  • 6-Hour and 2.5-Hour Lessons Available
  • Up to 50% scholarship assistance on 2.5-hour lessons only 
  • 1 student and 1 companion lift ticket are included. Companions must stay with lessons and not require instruction or assistance
  • Equipment/ helmet rentals for 2 included. Rentals must be picked up and dropped off at Creekside Sports at Snowbird or Mountain Outfitters at Sundance. 
  • Lunch is not provided in lessons

Solitude and Brighton

  • 6-Hour lesson available only 
  • Scholarships are not available for these resorts
  • Rental equipment is not included in the price at these resorts
  • Lunch is not provided in lessons
  • Solitude: Student lift ticket included 
  • Brighton: ½ Price ticket must be purchased by the student

SitBird Camp 2025
APRIL: 2-4
Wasatch Adaptive Sports is hosting a sit ski camp at Snowbird Ski Resort in April of 2025. The camp is open to advanced sit skiers.

The camp will include:
3 full days of skiing with WAS instructors/guides (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday with departure Fri. after skiing)
Skier arrival TBD.
Double occupancy lodging at the Cliff Lodge (skier & companion) for 3 nights (April 1st,2nd,3rd).
Breakfast burritos & light lunches daily.
Catered dinners Wednesday and Thursday (first night’s dinners on your own).
All items above provided for each skier and one companion per skier (companion must be advanced skier).
Ground transportation is not included but can be arranged via Snowbird for a fee.

Cost per person is $500. Limited scholarships are available.
Capacity is limited to 9 skiers. Applicants will be considered based on skiing ability and alignment with camp goals.

Past years participants are able to apply, but new applicants will have priority in order to share this great experience.
